Motorcheck report on UK car

I've used Motorcheck service previously but always for Irish cars, one report turned out invaluable as the car had finance owned on it but hadn't actually being declared until 7/8 months after I purchased the car. I provided evidence of this to the GE finance and they agreed that I did all I could at the time to check the car and he agreed to drop any interest in the car. Anyway we're considering part exchanging our current car against a car recently imported from the UK and re-registered. I'm concerned as it hasn't service history but he says it was MOD owned and serviced in-house. Has MOT documentation. I am worried and considering pulling the plug altogether but it's a decent deal.

The seller has provided me with the english registration, do I need more than this to get a true reflection on the car's history ? Do i really need the chassis number as well ?

This is where I'd be pulling the plug. You know nothing of its history, in truth.

cartell will give you Irish history and UK if it is imported,
All I had was exact make n model and the Irish reg. was a 04 or 05(can't remember) Avensis Estate with 84k miles and owner bought it from garage in 2007 in Ireland.
The check told me in the UK the car had built up 95k UK miles and on the last reading it went down to 54k UK miles!!
A few weeks after that reading it showed on Irish check that it had 46K Miles when registered here and up to 84k miles, which is what was on the clock when I looked.
So in UK just before import to Ireland they took 40,000 miles off the clock, and seemingly a further 8k miles or so when it got here.
The Elderly man I was buying of was fairly horrified when I informed him and I forwarded him the check(deleted my details first) and told him he could use it if he wanted to pursue garage he bought it from, as the elderly man was genuine and didn't know.
It had 84K miles but reality is that the engine had over 130k miles!!!
The check cost me 25-30 euro and well worth it in this case!! As I saved myself from making a expensive mistake.

    Just to add,
The report said there was a discrepancy in the mileage reading, I rang Cartell and the emailed me a detailed odometer reading from start of it's life until the last reading.

If it doesn't seem right then leave it go, there are many many cars out there. And it's hard to sell anything these days so you will get
a bargain, But as with any 2nd hand car, you won't truly know if there are any issues or not. Most(not all) will have some sort of issues but just make sure you do your checks and make sure the more serious potential issues are checked over.
    All the best

A further bit of research and .........
    http://www.mod-sales.com/vehicle/search/53828/Ford_.htm

Although this vehicle is high mileage it comes with Full Service History with the last service having been done on 21/11/2012 at 152659 miles - only 17 miles ago

Can't see why the one I'm looking at wouldn't have the same service history so yes I'll be pulling the plug.
