Does anyone who has done history in third year or knows someone who did have any recommendations as to what modules are good? Lecturers to avoid, perhaps?

Following this for myself! I have heard a few things about some modules bit will try remember them and find out more before I post at a more sensible hour!

Also, just fyi, the modules for this coming year are only on the courses.nuim.ie page and not on the history page at all so ignore the ones up in there!

Does anyone know which modules fill up the fastest? I'm registering late so want to know which ones I need to worry about!

A few of the modules have changed since last year. I will say, however, prepare for the core modules. In particular, HY310. It's a beast.

PM me if you have any more questions.

I noticed that actually, a lot of different options to last year. It's both good and bad! It is annoying that there's no info on the History undergrad page though. Those always gave much better information than the courses page.

Is HY310 Ireland or Europe? I think they've swapped the semesters for the core modules too. I started the Irish module last year before I deferred, not too fun!

In the year just gone, Hy310 was Europe. Hy311 was Ireland (semester 1).
I found Europe more interesting than the Ireland module. That's not to say I found the irish module poor;it was very good. However, the Europe module was very 'meaty'. The amount of stuff to cover is quite vast.

Ah, they've changed around semesters but not codes!

Thanks for the info. I am definitely prepared to be prepared! :)
