Vile Smell in Drogheda?

Hi,I was in Drogheda on Friday and there was an awful foul smell in the air.It was worse in the Open air Car Park up top.Just heard from a few friends that came across the same smell.Any ideas??

Yeah I got that, too. Not entirely sure what it was but there's a lot of farmland surrounding drogheda so perhaps something to do with that?

Wind blowing the wrong direction from the sewage treatment plant happens every so often with the smell varying in intensity

I think it's the smell from farmers spreading slurry - I have experienced the smell from the sewage treatment plant, but it's rare enough compared to the smell of slurry coming from the fields.

No, that smell isn't that bad and doesn't travel that far


I wonder how certain people got planning permission to build houses almost on top of a long time industry like Avanmore/Glanbia Or should I not go there? Nash would have an inkling.
