Since I was ripping apart my laptop for the slimline dvd drive, I looked at the screen and went "Hmmmmmmmm, surely you can be used too". So off I went to the internet.
Learned that I needed an LCD controller board, LVDS cable, an inverter board and a power adapter.

    Found this: http://stores.ebay.ie/njytouch
Also discovered that my laptop screen didn't require an inverter board. Messaged the shop with the model number of my screen and they suggested a controller board they would program for me.

So now I'm waiting on the post, which could take a month after spending about €50 on this little test. Will report back with the results!

Oh, and found out I need this little bugger for the slimline dvd drive -_-

The glory of a mini sata power connector that needs to be 5V. (read horror stories of people cutting normal sata power cables to fit the mini one, only for the thing to set fire due to supplying 12V).
