If you have Saorview signal in your area, you need the dish for free view and an aerial for saorview. Nothing complicated at all.

If I combine this Combi Box . . . with this Dish . . . will I be able to view both Saoirview and UK Free-to-air channels?

You won't be able to view anything until the dish & aerial are installed properly: are you going to attempt the installation yourself?

    No

Do you not think the installer might like to supply the equipment? Certainly the aerial & dish, along with any related poles, brackets etc.

And in the case of the aerial, there's no '1 size fits all' type, like how a 60cm dish will be adequate for UK channels in most of the country.

So... can anyone recommend an aerial?

To add to confusion, you won't get "free view" via a dish.

Any recommendation is only a guess without even a rough idea of your location, never mind going there & measuring signal levels. Take a look at the Saorview coverage map & at least see if you're in the covered as opposed to the 'challenged' areas.

Based on some of your previous posts you appear to live in the Lucan/Clondalkin area, if so, Kippure is the transmitter that covers your area -UHF Chs. 54/58 Group C/D aerial.

Installed an aerial for my sister in Lucan last year pointing at Kippure.

Ok ok.... whatever is called. The satellite channels that you don't have to pay for!

In the Dublin area, I think I'd try one of these log-periodic aerials. It's wideband, so will work for Three Rock as well as Kippure & claims 'high out-of-band rejection' with 4G mobile signals in mind.

Thanks alot Lads, very helpful. Yes I had checked that Coverage chart before and Kippure is indeed the aerial and seemingly coverage shouldn't be a problem.

    Thanks again

Yes that would be a better option for Kippure than the Group CD above with 4G just around the corner.

I see they don't stock the Blake 4G/LTE Group T range of aerials yet.

Possibly a very stupid question - once I have the dish installed, can I use the UPC box to receive Free-To-Air channels rather than buying a new FTA box??

UPC box is only for the reception of UPC cable TV, satellite reception requires a box with a DVB-S/S2 tuner.
