I am waiting for a dermatologist appointment and I use the Neutrogena T Gel Therapeutic Shampoo (Brown one) see this picture: neutrogena_t_gel_shampoo.png

I can't find this for sale anywhere in Dublin, does anyone know anywhere that stocks it, I have had to resort to buying from Amazon in the meantime :(

Have you checked Boots Chemist ? while I dont use the product myself, I would be fairly sure I've seen T-Gel there and actually now that I think of it, I'm sure I've seen it in Dunnes too

They only have the brown one for greasy hair which isn't the same. I have tried Boots and Dunnes and Tesco :(

Have you tried McCabes pharmacy? They have a neutrogena range. Failing that could you ask a local pharmacist to try order it for you? I find they're more receptive than big chains, and chances are if it is potentially used as a medicine they can order via the supplier.

It is available. I work in a pharmacy (not in Dublin). As far as i know It is only available to order from one wholesaler (sundrelle) which every pharmacy may not deal with- some smaller pharmacy should be able to order it for you - may take a week or so.

I have seen in in McCabes, but I haven;t been looking for it, so I dont know if they have it recently.

I agree that they would be good for ordering items for you, if you ask.

My pharmacy rang them a few months back and they said it was on back order. I got them to check again recently and they said it was discontinued. I go the amazon route and buy 6 bottles at a time. Works out cheaper than buying here too. I've used Capasal which is coal tar based too. Smells horrible but gets the job done.

If you are based in Dublin I strongly recommend you visit Foleys Chemist in Parnell Street. They will give you a quick assessment and then they give their own remedies for skin conditions - some are tar based, others have other ingredients. I use a paste they gave me on my scalp once a month. Fiddly messy job and smells horrible, but it works. Anytime I have a flare up or new skin problem I go in and anything they give me has always worked. And very reasonable prices too given the efficacy of their products.

They company told my wife that it will be unavailable here for at least a year. No details, just that. She is also distressed.
