I've a shotgun u/o and have been trapping mink for a while with live cages aswell as the odd kill trap....But im just curious you can call a fox as there predators and would love a easy meal ie distressed rabbit call ,but mink are fairly serious predators aswell could I call them into range of a shotgun?If so what calls should I use....I know alot of answers will be stick to trapping but I'm just curious ! Thanks

Probably cos mink rely more on scent than hearing when hunting, at least compared to foxes. Foxes also have bigger ears in comparison to the size of their heads compared to mink, so respond more readily to distressed rabbit calls and the like. Though I'm sure if a mink was near enough he would take an interest in your standard predator call

Years ago iv called mink into touching reach. This is when I was fishing and seen them. One came to the tip of the rod and doubled back into the hedge,Shot I with a .17HMR @ point blank after missing him twice and then started squeekink he came lifting. And before that had 1 run right by me inches away while squeeking by hand(no gun age 10/11).
