So I've finished Red Dead Redemption (yes its 3 years old I know) and it was an excellent game.

So lying on the couch one evening I started to think about John Marston and what he is doing now :o Then I said to myself Mick you gobs**te he's doing feck all because the xbox is off :D

Which got me thinking that a game like RDR has a pretty powerful affect on the human mind to such an extent that you wonder about the character long after the game is finished.

So do I need to see a specialist

It had to be him. Someone else might have gotten it wrong. :(

I like to imagine there is a real world equivalent to Ryu from Street Fighter, going from street fight to street fight, kicking the crap out of everyone and training to become the ultimate warrior. Fireballs are an optional but desired extra.

I think he'd end up arrested at this stage. Or a cripple after fighting for over 20 years. :p

I still think he should have lived :(

Was great shooting Ross in the face and seeing it ripped open but poor John's still gone!

Ryu is funnily enough based on a real life character.

I often think about Neku from TWEWY. I wonder what he did with his life afterwards and if they all stayed friends.

Heavy Rain...I finished that a few times and got quite attached to the characters.

TLoU had me as well, Bioshock Infinite to some extent.

i genuinely fell in love with morrigan my first time playing dragon age

but i think that was less to do with the character and more to do with the fact she was voiced by claudia black, which I didn't actually realise until after I'd finished the game

    also yes, companion cube

Is it wrong that I know that verse by heart and can recite it verbatim? :P

    Joel and Ellie :(

    They were just so real.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

I grew quite attached to Ellie during the story. The game was crafted beautifully. If it doesn't win every game of the year award going, there is something wrong. The multiplayer was mediocre but the single player experience was made the game special.

Corporal Jonlan always used to get full armour and best weapons from me in laser squad. Was a sad day every time he bit the bullet.

People tend to bash Bioshock Infinite sometimes, but Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth were some of the best characters of the past few years.

Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater. The Boss.

The Boss: I raised you, I loved you, I have given you weapons

    <breaks down crying>

Alyx from Half Life. We connected. And they gave her some very realistic animations.

Kain and Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series. Two of the best voice acted characters ever. If they were human characters voiced today with today's graphics, Ellie and Joel wouldn't get a second look!

Kratos, to an extent, but only to see what the next world of trouble he's getting himself into.

The Walking Dead - no need to say more.

And Legion from Mass Effect. Had more of an effect (ba dum tish) than Mordin.
