So anyway today about half an hour before shutting up shop I was standing outside creeping on limericks finest. There was this homeless man who regularly sits down to the side of my shop or across the rood. That's his turf.

So he was sitting across the road outside centra and there was some gowl on his phone wearing a cheap suit and tried to shoo the homeless man away. I watched as he tried to wave the paper he had at him like a fly.

The homeless man came over to my side of the road and they kept it up. So I went back inside and had a few bagels I was throwing away so gave him one and a bottle of coke. I really showed up the gowl in a suit.

So what do ye do with homeless people? Are ye nice to them? This lad was a nice lad who I have seen munching on chips and talking to old ladies.

Or perhaps are you the gowl in the suit?

Whenever I'm in Dublin I buy 4 or 5 chicken fillet rolls (€1.99 in centra) and give them to the first 5 I see. They get a bad aul time of it. I try to look for Irish ones though, don't tend to be handing anything to the Roma ladies sitting on their designer handbags.

The homeless man was probably asking the person still hanging after their debs for money and he told him to go away.

Good on you for giving the man food but you didn't hear their conversation. The homeless man may have also called the 18 year old's suit cheap to which he took offence.

A conversation costs nothing. Its something more people should do with homeless people.

we used to get the local homeless guy to buy us drink in return for sherry
it turned out that sherry was the best alcohol per punt product out there
this was 1989 so things have changed its port or vermouth now

A lot of homeless people tend to be crazy, I dont go out of my way to interact with them. But the next time I do something decent I'll be sure to start a thread and proclaim myself a hero.

Maybe because you dont interact with them you have the misconception that they're crazy.

Usually give them a few quid and feel sorry for them but I've no interest in chatting to them. That's something I always associate with pissed middle class students earnestly chatting to the homeless about Life On The Street on a night out.

The ones I have interacted with have been mostly crazy so I dont go out of my way to interact with them just in case. The ones I know are crazy and that talk to themselves I give an extra wide berth.

Wait a minute... I thought the OP was talking about the homeless guy! The OP throws a homeless guy a few stale bagels and thinks himself a hero?

Oh shìt, I just gave my last fcuk to a homeless guy!

Most so called homeless are not truly homeless. They are in long-term accomodation and draw job seekers allowance. Only a handful are living rough.
