anyone got any faith in this company getting back to its IPO price of near $ 20 , its widely believed the new CEO may have slightly turned things around , when mason was at the helm , many saw it as only a matter of time before it went out of business

The deals market was always an area I just did not get.

    Example

    Normal price €50
    Deal price €25

    Deal site cut €12.50
    Business gets €12.50
so a business that normally charges €50 only now gets €12.50 . So the more deals the business sells the more it loses.

So apart from getting my email clogged up by deal sites I won't be investing in the area.

I'm bullish on Groupon sine they announced a $300 million share buyback plan.

can you see it getting back to around $ 20 where it opened two years ago

id be doubtful myself but it might get to $ 15 prior to next earnings in november

I think it's unlikely they can get back to $20 but anythings possible. There is a lot of negativity surrounding Groupon ever since its IPO crash. I think their a potential takeover target.

Google before offered 6 billion dollars to buy Groupon in 2010/2011 and their share price spiked 20% around Dec 2012 after more takeover rumors from google. I Yahoo were interested at one stage..
