eos 400D not working

    hi guys,the wife has a 400D which I got her about 6 years ago,worked fine until recently and now it just wont turn on,i have had a google and there are plenty of similar cases out there,i have checked the contacts on the battery,have bought the camera up to a camera shop in cork and they put in a charged battery in case it was just a battery problem but it wouldn't switch on there either and they advised handing it in to a repair centre which might be the only avenue left,i have given the contacts a clean,given the little sensors on the battery compartment door and the cf card slot a blast of compressed air in case there was some dust there but no joy,im wondering is there any repair shop in the cork or munster area where I could hand it in or is Dublin the only place to send it,regards

    Sounds like the usual 400D dead DC/DC board problem. I do repairs myself and have a for parts 400D with a good power board too if you would like to PM me for details?
