Anyone else making the trip to Spain for this one ? Looks like a nice flat course, very fast. Really looking forward to it :)

Belcarra and myself did the full this year. Flat alright. Might do it again this year if the flights come down a bit in price.

    Good luck.

That course is much of the full course which takes place a month later. As Itziger says its a very flat course. The first half is gonna be ok scenery wise but the second half is along the dry river bed which is now a park with some great modern Calatrava architecture along the way which will whittle away the miles. Should be really good but may be a little hot given that we were running in 22 degrees in November.

I may have pointed this out already to you Itziger but apparently they have made a very flat course even flatter this year! I guess they must have taken out the two underpasses as I can't remember any other elevation change!

Yup, that's what they've done. Funny thing is, I thought the tiny change in gradient was a relief! I'm not sure about these flat courses at all. I, and I believe you and others even more so, suffered a lot in Rotterdam. Go figure! By the way, I notice Metz and Chicago are on the same day. Now if the Concorde was still operating, you could nearly have done em both!!! Shame. I'll be thinking of you - probably around km 37.

The flights stop just before the marathon weekend!
I flew into Madrid and drove across and used the trip as a mini holiday.

It got to about 22 degrees by the end of the race so pretty warm alright. I felt the effects in the last 10km but it wasn't too bad and it still stands as my PB.
