    Hi there

Only just about knew enough to get my kid's wii to run games from a backup HDD.

The Wii had it's power plug pulled today and I think there may have been a System update applied from a game disc.

Now GX Loader can't find the HDD.
I've been using d2x with random settings trying to get it to work but no joy.

Would anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this ?

I had created a backup using BootMii a while back - would that be any good to me ?

    sysCheck output attached below.

possibly I don't know, depends if they were saved externally or wii itself....small price to pay to recover tho :)

lets us know how you go !

    Will do.
Copied off most of the game saves using the built in data management.

After I restore is installing StartPatch a good idea ?

I never did, so cant comment, I like to leave as minimal hacks as possible, less chance of something breaking, bootmii and loaders, thats about it for me !

Restored the nand backup via bootmi
Then had to reinstall the cIOS via d2x

Still wasn't working so i fiddled about with the USB settings in GX Loader to test both USB ports.

Don't know whether this fixed it or whether I just had the drive in the wrong port but
the end result is that it is working again !!

Couldn't get StartPatch to work at all.

    Thanks for your help !

cool, yes usb must be connected to right hand side port for some reason !!

keep that original nand safe, or any updated working nand backup, LIFESAVER
