I got five calls over the last 10 days, where lock keys were lost or wrong key for lock, to replace locks. So I was thinking there must be easier way than always changing the lock when keys are not able to found. I came up with a solution. With all the locks I replaced I wrote the key number behind handles on door. I got a call today from a client to say a young lad lost the key of door and it was great to be able to get key No. instead of replacing lock again.Internal locks like Basta etc
    Tip might help someone

    Very good idea!
The only concern I would have is whoever might find the lost keys could potentially access your home. If you replace the lock you are more secure. This assumes of course it is a lock on an external door.

Maybe I am over cautious

How much is it to get a lock replaced on a standard PVC door.
