    Hi,
I`v been using windows since win 3.1 and youd expect things to get a little easier......more fool you. I decided to format my SD boot drive today......put it in a Linux pc and deleted the partition and put the drive back in my pc. I have a number of copies of windows 7 Ult and thought all I need to do was pop in the dvd and boot to it, (like I used to on XP) but not so aparently. I upgraded to win 8 when it came out and ordered the disks and all, but did not like it so I wnt back to windows 7. Now I cant get anything to boot from a cold restart. What do I need to do to get the PC into some form of Windows again. Back in the day windows XP Black was a great way to start a clean PC. Whats used now adays.? TIA John

If this is a new computer with UEFI secure boot, look in the BIOS for Legacy Boot and enable it.
