If we all just do 1 post a day if will become an active forum.

There does seem to be a lack of mods around tho.

Sounds good, I have been just looking at Irish stocks at the moment so I do like reading comments here on Irish companies. What markets are currently buying stocks in? Also what broker do you use? I just opened an account with Davys, there not the cheapest but would be reliable enough.

I have three comments done today now so lets keep up the good work!!!

+1 the forum is very poor at the minute

The lack of interested moderators is shocking, the last time xebex posted here was around 4 years ago!!!!

Ixus doesn't seem to be much better, he hasn't posted regularly in this forum since 2012, he hasn't even been online in nearly 2 months (which ironically was to punish me for trying to stop rampant pushing of particular 'investing' ideas at people)!!

Forum needs new moderators and better Cmods

There is a pretty good thread going about Bank of Ireland.
Any other thoughts about any stocks?
Personally, I'm getting out of Glanbia; I don't think it will go any higher

Yes, agree we could make this a good active forum if we ourselves make it active.

I can see margins for kerry & glanbia and the likes getting bigger when the quota system is abolished. Alot of farmers upgrading their facilities. All I can see here is an over supply of quality milk leading to cheap prices, less cost to the processors...maybe

Kingspan has seen plenty of growth in the price of its shares in the past couple of years, do you guys think it can continue to rise?

Just to jump in with two hats on. The Mods only real purpose is to police the forum and keep it tidy, its really up to the users (You guys) to create the content...

On to Glanbia! I have a small position in Glanbia becuase as mentioned above once the Milk Quotas are gone in 2015 they should be a great position to produce far more milk that some of the other EU countries. Ireland has a very good climate for producing milk. Glanbia is a long term stock for me.

As I mentioned before I am a fan of Glanbia. They have done well for me but I am out now(all be it a bit to early). Quotas going in 2015 will not be the main driving force for profits in the future. Look to US and health drinks for that. They have reduced their exposure to Irish milk if anything and that may be wise. Dairy expansion here will be hampered by land availability, land price, labour costs, eu regulations, lending restrictions, pollution controls, on farm investment requirements, free market prices and the new one.. last years fodder problems.

Thanks lucky john, I'm still very new to investments so at the moment I really just tend to go for stocks or stories that I can easily grasp. The Glanbia story made sense to me and when I got a good price at the time (Currently up 86.05%!) although I trade in pennies really.

Perhaps it is time to cut Glanbia, I'll take another look (thanks).

there was a lot of policing need but no one to do it. There was a whole thread picking on a young lad who kept trying to pump gold or the whole banners thread needed a mod but none was to be found. Its hard to be bothered posting when anything goes.

Like you I am no expert. I have always had an interest in shares so when there's a few euro built up I prefer to invest rather than get 2% in a savings account. A bitch when it goes wrong but a good buzz when you get it right.

Gordongekko is right. No one here is giving professional financial advice, just opinion for what its worth so personal attacks on posters is not on.

@ gordongekko Sorry, I didn't realise that. I don't spend that much time on this board because I have very little to contribute. I like reading it though because I learn a lot from reading the threads. Its a hobby really.

(I don't want to step on anyone's toes and as I mentioned above I'm not that active on here so I don't really know what happened before this however..)

Honestly, I couldn't agree more. Its free advice\opinion, if you don't like it then ignore it or move on..there is no place for personal attacks.
