ignition barrel

Ignition barrel is screwed on my 02 diesel santa fe, have been searching car dismantlers for a new one and came across a breaking petrol one, one mechanic reckons it will be ok another not so sure... anyone any ideas? Can't find a breaking diesel one anywhere
