Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good breakdown assistance to go for as I don't have it included in my policy. The AA look a bit pricey at about €100 for the year.

Seen these guys here: http://www.breakdowncover.ie/ and http://www.roadrescue.ie/breakdown-cover.asp

Looking for a good crowd to go with that'll cover me anywhere in the country and cover for getting the car back to a garage where I live etc.

No idea about road rescue, they seem to be Axa assistance, but breakdowncover.ie is run by MAPFRE/Ireland Assist.

We use Ireland Assist for covering all our fleet vehicles, and they are fairly good. They outsource the work to local garages, so have a pretty decent coverage so you shouldn't be at the side of the road waiting, for too long.

Ireland assist are also the recovery company my insurer uses, and I've had to use them a couple of times and found them pretty good.

It might be cheaper to change to a policy that does have it.

Can't seem to find much info about them online regarding prices etc. Might give them a call or a mail. Edit: I didn't read properly there to see that breakdowncover.ie were Ireland Assist!

Not for me. I'm with xsdirect as the main insurers wanted crazy money or wouldn't quote because i've just had a claim.

Just signed up to Road Rescue Plus for €49. Was going to go for the equivalent type of cover with breakdowncover.ie afte rthe recommendation and some slightly better terms in the small print but it kept going up to €67 from €57 when I went to pay
