Go to citizens advice first would be my advice.

It may be easier for her to sign off OPF and for you at add her to your claim, she will get €124 for her and €29.80 for baby. She will continue to get CB if she is getting it.

If she is getting rent allowance, there may be implications and I have no idea about that.

would the community welfare officer pay us while we are waiting for the claim to come through ?

If you are living together she will have to close her OPF payment and you can add her and your child to your claim. All you need to do is both of you go into your local sw office and tell them that you are moving in together. There will be an overlap between her OPF and your JSA as OPF is paid a week in advance and payment date is different to JSA.

I understand she will have to, I just dont want to move in and be poor for eight weeks.I just thought it would be a complete new claim if i was adding her and the baby. Is it ?

It is an amendment to your existing claim. You need to complete 2 forms, UP7 for your partner and UP8 for the child. The OFP will stop immediately but it could take a while for them to be added to your claim. The CWO can top you up in the meantime.
You will also need to provide proof of addrss for you if you are moving. If she is in a council house you may be requested to provide proof you have permission to reside there.
