Lenovo Z580 laptop - faulty Wifi

I purchased the above laptop recently. I have been having problems with the wifi not connecting when I switch on my laptop and the signal becoming limited among other problems. From searching on the net it appears that that these laptops have a major fault with the wifi adaptor.
Has anyone else had problems? Did you manage a fix?
I am thinking about returning the laptop.

Had a new HP Compaq laptop here yesterday, WLAN signal was very poor. Opened the service hatch, there was only one aerial connected although the adapter has two connectors. Not a loose wire (which happens occasionally), the second arial simply wasn't there. Didn't bother dismantling the whole thing since it's still under warranty, told the girl to return it (and possibly swap for something more powerful, the laptop was painfully slow thanks to the horrible AMD E1 Fusion chip).

I think I may have solved the problem. It appears to be a widespread problem. I had looked all over those Lenovo forums.
I updated the driver but it had no effect. I changed the sleep setting so the laptop wouldnt turn off the wifi. Yesterday I disabled the bluetooth and it now seems to be working. I dont know if it will be a permanent fix.

Three screws. In this case it is a fairly big panel with access to the HDD, memory banks and WLAN controller.

Of course, that is not always the case. I have seen laptops recently where you can't even swap the HDD without takinging the whole thing apart.
