Is it better to repeat my leaving cert or to go somewhere like rathmines or Ballyfermot for a year and then get into a university from there.

If you're interested in anything to do with media you can do a two year HND at a college of further education and then one extra year to get a degree in Media Production Management in Ballyfermot, which is accredited by DCU. You can get onto the degree from courses like radio, film, journalism, music, TV etc. You'd have an honours degree in three years as opposed to four if you repeated your L.C. It also means you'd have the option of leaving after two years with your HND if you decide you don't want to do the degree. So if you're interested in any media-related area I would go the further education route because you learn practical skills and you're in small classes as opposed to big lecture halls.
