I'd really appreciate a bit of help with this. I have 600 max to spend on a new PC. Primary use is recording and editing audio (through external firewire interface). A bit of Portal or similar light gaming and a bit of basic video editing. I don't need speakers or require anything special from the onboard audio card.

I have 2 Dell 1707 monitors that I'd like to use as a single display. They'll take either VGA or DVI. No other peripherals required. Would love an SSD for the OS (Win7).

Basically I haven't had a new computer in 6-7 years. I've been looking on hardwareversand but I am not sure about power supplies or what kind of mb or cpu is suitable for me, so grateful for any help.

    1. What is your budget? max 600

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Audio recording/editing, general usage

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes, Win 7.

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? No, but need a dual-head gfx card.

5a. If yes, what size do you need. N/A

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1280x1024, 60Hz

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Card Reader, Wireless NIC, CD/DVD RW Drive, Firewire card

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Sure

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser] Yes

    9. When are you purchasing? ASAP

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Should be fine, Dub 20.

    Thanks lads.
