I have just completed my last year of Early childhood care and education and have got FETAC level 6 certificate. so is there any work out there for me??? No ... why not?? because every day on the fas.ie website they are advertising looking for childcare workers to work for nothing or for an extra 20-50 on the dole. but they are not looking for qualified staff no no no they are looking for quoted "This is a developmental opportunity, no experience is necessary"

There you go. no experience necessary..... no wonder there is a problem with staff in the childcare industry taking people on with no experience and no qualifications.

Rant over i just think its scandalous. and im sure its not just affecting the area of childcare but many more...

also.. not everyone can even apply to do one of these schemes as you have to be on social welfare for over a year....

One of the recommendations in the independent report by INOU was that “options should be provided to host organisations to pay interns in certain circumstances”. I think this would make the scheme far more attractive or a clause whereby if the intern was employed then the employer has to back pay the intern the salary the intern should have been earning over a certain period of time. There is a big thread here aswell ! http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=85405185

CE Scheme is seriously screwing me over. I've seen 10 opportunities ideal for me and haven't been able to take up any of them coz I'm 24. They say no experience and you'd get a chance to complete certs and stuff as you go along but I'd have a lot of these already. :(
