first off it's only €200 in Dom Byrnes in Kiltealey

I have and use 2 of these scopes and 5-15x40 and 6-24x50 tacticals. While the 6-18x50's are very good for what I use them for IMO they would not be the best for what your wanting it for.

While that scope will take the recoil perhaps you would be better to get something a little better for more money in the Bushnell range of scopes, the 5-15x40 would be the best for you IMO

You will do well to hit rabbits consistently much beyond 200 yds with a 150 yd zero - it's entirely possible, but inconvenient. If you zero at 200, say, you will find difficulty with the shorter shots.

223 will kill foxes at extended range, as long as you hit them right (ribcage/heart/head, as appropriate) and with 150 yd zero, 350yds would be an acceptable max (again, this is a practical limit - what is possible is another story).

I find I don't need a very expensive scope to cover these ranges, but if I were looking to punch paper, my needs would change.

I even used a NcStar (cheap Chinese) scope out to 350yds for a couple of years, until I couldn't stand the appalling dusk/dawn resolution any more.

The Banner is OK IMHO and good value at 200 as per clivej.

Just to add that banner 6-18x50 is a big scope size wise.
