The 5800k will benefit hugely from fast ram, interesting enough I've ordered a 5800K machine as well out of curiosity, I got 4gb 2133mhz ram with it - though you can overclock your ram as well. Yes you can use any GPU with it, though as a CPU on its own its weak compared to other processors. You can also crossfire it with a 6670, which improves performance at 1080p quite well, and they can be had for about 30 euro 2nd hand if you wanted to add one down the line.

I see you're buy from dabs, few quick changes I would make to squeeze more out of the budget, every penny counts in a real budget build!

    1) Can change that Corsair 430w to this to save a few quid, I've used loads of them and found them really good for the money.
    2) Change that crappy case to something like this to save a further few euro, notwithstanding that the one you've chosen is poor quality.
    3) There's always the option then to go for a cheap S1155 matx board, buy a budget processor like the G2120, and get a card like this. Game performance in general would be much better, and down the line you can swap the G2120 for a cheap i5 when you want to.

You definitely don't need more ram than 8Gb, even 4GB is OK for games.

If I really had to stick to a strict 350 budget, this is probably what I'd go for. Like the G2120, the 640 can be replaced down the line but its adequate for most games, the 7790 is a good performer which will make up for lost ground in the majority of games - the 640 can be replaced with the likes of a Fx6300 down the line very reasonably. If you could stretch an extra 50 euro now, getting the Fx6300 would be a far better move.

That was based on buying from Dabs, I should have said. Check out Hardwareversand for far more options, especially on a budget.

Same idea but for a little more comes with a 7850

    Item|Price
    WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 3 6Gb/s|€48.29
    4GB Corsair Valueselect DDR3-1333 CL9|€28.27
    Corsair Builder Serie CX430 V3 Non-Modular 80+ Bronze, 430 Watt|€39.59
    Intel Pentium G2020 Box, LGA1155|€50.74
XFX Radeon HD 7850 Core Edition, 1GB GDDR5|€139.64
    ASRock H61M-DG3/USB3, Sockel 1155, mATX|€44.09
Cooler Master Elite 342, mATX, ohne Netzteil|€25.00
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€394.61

Just to say I dont know my stuff at all. Just showing a similar build from hardwareversand.
And I dont know if that mobo or case would be suitable for you?

If he's able to stretch to 400 give or take, it's worth getting the Fx6300 and 7790 over the G2020 and 7850 really.

Aye the g-card can always be upgraded in future.

The fx-6300 is ridiculous value at the moment. It's easily a 5 year lifespan cpu as well.
