Need to get rid of this one spot on my face before tomorrow. It's quite noticeable... What do you recommend? Toothpaste? Honey? Salt water? Should I just keep toothpaste or honey on it covered by a plaster for the whole day, and then do the same overnight, or is the any other crucial thing that guarantees to get rid of it. I tried cotton ball dipped in hot water and salt for 3mins pressing on the spot but it did NOTHING. Help if you can!

I wouldn't think covering up would do any good it needs some air.. Always found toothpaste to work great keep applying and it should dry it out fairly fast, bit of tea tree oil too.. why so desperate to get rid of it

Pure tea tree oil would be what I would use.

Sudocream. I used it for my spots it's so good. It'll reduce redness over night so put it on now and rub in really well. And re apply before bed. Be Warned it goes all over sheets

What you need is PanOxyl from a pharmacy, its the thing that dermatologists use.

It will reduce it effectively and fast as well as reduce the inflammation around it.

The most you can do really is keep it as clean as you can and hopefully it will heal slightly overnight, if you end up squeezing it the healing process will take longer but might lessen its mass, (sorry dont know how big it is), it's almost a case of picking the lesser of 2 evils but I heard tea tree oil is worth a shot

Anyone ever use TCP for a spot?

Yep. It's quite good. Not as good as tea tree oil though. I can't stand the smell of tcp though others love it!

La Roche Posay Duo, I've used it on cystic acne and it's reduced them overnight :)

LRP AI is also supposed to be good.

So for the overnight thing, what is the BEST recommendation? Sudocream? Toothpaste (they say paste not gel - what does that even mean?)? Plaster over it? TCP? How can I guarantee that it will at least have gone down a bit and be a little bit less noticeable by the morning, cos at the moment it's horrible :(

If you have any eye roll on put a bit of that on the spot. (Only on the zit and no where else)

God I hate spots! I'm 21 and still suffering from Acne!

When I get extremely desperate....... (Now this is gross, so the faint hearted, divert your eyes) .... I pierce it with a sterilized needle, then squeeze all the ugh out!

    Then I use TCP!

Otherwise, if you're suffering all the time, go to your doctor and ask for Differin gel......... They used to have me on Duac but its crap (for me).

If its acne you have, then you need tablets. Like Tetracycline.

Avoid the contraceptive pill :/ it could help, but it can really and truely cause mood swings. But every womans different! I use a different and more effect contraceptive now, but it may be contributing to the acne.
But like I said to the doctor, I'd rather bad skin, then a baba on my hip!!! haha

It is a close call but defo spots would be much cheaper than a baby!!

How did you get on then with getting rid of it? Hope it wasn't too bad today..

Have you ever tried the roche possay stuff timmybob? i found that very good for breakouts.. I got sick s***e looking at the spots and bad marks a few years ago, and was going in to get the old Clearasil and the lady asked me to try it out first. Have to say within a week i noticed a huge difference. Now it wasn't harse acne but they were fairly nasty..might be worth a go

No never tried it! I'll look it up now!!

Gotta give this stuff a shout out aswell! ........I know this would go under beauty, but...... On the Spot, by Seventeen...... its a cheap foundation I've just gotten into. Its ment to fight spots while looking pretty!! .....and I frickin' love it!!!

I got that stupid BB cream before, and its so crap! ...doesnt hide my acne scars atal!!....

17 is just friggin epic, .....and the shades are a great match! however, I only ever seen shades for white women :/ but I'm sure they must have darker shades, ...i got mine in boots in galway... maybe they stock darker shades in other big counties like dublin??

Theres no orange shades!! they're all the natural colours......but you can darken it up with some bronzer. I only use the light bronze shade by 17 to make my face look really flawless and shine free, matches the foundation but gives it a tiny colour boost! even if my face is sweaty, I just blotch it with some tissue, and my make up still looks good! (compared to BB, which comes right off at the first sign of sweat or rain or missing your mouth with a bottle of water!)

    2 scenarios:

    1. The spot has come to a head (i.e., like a white head), squeeze (gently) the puss out, and immediately apply toothpaste (yep). Every couple of hours clean the area with a disinfectant/something to dry it out (like TCP/tea tree oil) and resqueeze if necessary...apply more toothpaste.

    2. Spot is under the skin/hasnt come to a head. Get a tablet of aspirin. Crush and mix with water to make a paste. Apply on spot (for a few hours/over night if poss), and then start the above. :)

I f*cked up my face badly last night and this morning cos i was so stressed, was so embarrassed but the day is over now. Moving on!!!! lol

Oh no sorry to halfmoon, I am sure it wasn't as bad as you thought. The things you think people would notice first about you are normally the last they will see, so do not let it bother.. Tally hoe well done for going ahead with it anywho..

I am wondering about this BB cream hype, is it just like that primer stuff you put on under your makeup. I do not get this as the min you touch or someone the makeup just wipes off...

Number 17 is great alrite great for highstreet I suppose they call it. Im going out there now im 30 forever 29 and have used the 17 concealer for years and think tis great and the rest of the products. Haha laughing though I use it for the opposite reason to you, I am failry pale skinned and hate the orange look so this is the only brand that always has the lighter shades stocked, otherwise change according to the season. Le Roche Possay also do makeup aswell with darker shades might be right for you another one was the Mac everyday makeup think is is €12 tis the shazzile.. Great coverage and not heavy on the skin...

Hey guys, wanted to give ye an update on the stuff my doc just put me on, Differin.....
I had a bad dose of spots even under my chin on the right side......

Last night in the shower i used my exfoliating gloves there and all over the face.... I used to use them all the time but havent in about 2 weeks. i just used a bar of soap instead of my tea-tree foam facewash (boots, green bottle!) and then when i got out, I used my boots cleanser and toner (its gone down to 3eur something now in boots from 4 something, ....i have a bit left, but its lasted since the start of june til now! with regular use!) .....then i used my Differin that the doctor gave me, and my skin is almost perfect now! so soft and no where near as bumpy with spots as it was!!

i never bothered with cleanser before this summer, but its one thing you gotta use! it totally cleans the area,.....you think your face is totally clean, but then you use these, and the amount of dead skin on the cotton pads is gross! anyone spot prone should defo use it if you dont already!

i'm going to try tesco's own cleanser next, its like 2euro.... gunna see if it does the same job!

I'm a freak for shopping round getting the best deal! .....get your cotton pads in Lidl, they do the job!

my motto is, if you're only going to use it once, buy it cheap :P (just to add in dou, sometimes the big stores have good value...boots nail varnish remover is the cheapest in terms of quantity out of lidl and tesco)
