    Hi Lads,

Anyone have much dealings with RAM overclocking? I currently have my ram running at 1900mhz, (capable of running at 2400mhz) every-time I try to up the frequency the systems crashes, I also increased the voltage in order to keep it stable but no joy?
    Volts, 1.65 currently

    Any thoughts?

    Thks in advance

You mean it's rated for 2400 but you can't reach that?

It could be to do with the fact that your CPU clock speed is so high. Maybe loosen the timings a bit, or up the voltage?

I am not very well versed in ram overclocking.

Appreciated, I actually had that problem when my cpu was also running in the low 4ghz range,

Yeah I just cant seem to get them to run on the 2400 speed as rated on the modules.

I have increased the voltage by a small amount but didn't want to over do it, Ill do it again with small increments

How many sticks of ram and link to the ram, what motherboard and what timings are you using?

Mobo is ( Asrock Extreme 11)
8 stick of ram (4Gb each)
    Timings are ( 9-11-11-31 ) link

Ok, I have increased the voltage ever so slightly, So im goona stick with the 2000mhz and leave it that.

For 8 sticks of ram you would need over default voltage and might not be possible to get rated speeds with 8 sticks unless you loosen timings.

    Yeah, thanks again,

Half the number of sticks and try the XMS profile on the ram.

    Hi There

Ill give it a shot when I went home, Thks

Done as you said, but system still would not run at 2400, So I increased the voltage to 1.7 and know I can achieve 2190.

I think Ill just keep it running on the regular frequency I had As I don't want to be putting to much volts to the ram

    Is your cpu overclocked?

The CpU is over-clocked to 5.2Ghz. So a heavy overclock alright.

Thats why you cant get the ram and the settings you want. You should consider yourself lucky your getting what you said you got with that :)

I have the cpu on a chiller unit though, Its the only way to achieve those clcoks, I do understand as you said its lucky to even get what I have at the moment.
