mum's one wasn't working on the sportage there a while back. I had a bit of time one day so decided to disect it to see what was up with it. Turned out protective seal was damaged which was letting water onto the shaft. The shaft was coroded and hence the motor couldn't turn it. Bit of sandpaper to clear up any corrosion, a lashing of grease and off she went again. So much for the crazy quotes Kia were giving us!

Honestly, what have you to lose taking it apart? It's broken anyway. It usually is as simple as taking the thing apart, seeing how it works, finding the point of failure, and then seeing if t can be fixed.

    Maybe he meant Cinquecento...........

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Thank you for your help, The only other digit is has is 2. It looks v. similar to the angled bit that is numbered 2 in the diagram but it is a single bar and does not have the 'top' bit. Thanks

I'm assuming then it's part of the linkage assembly and not the arm so?

My advice is if it's the wiper linkage it's best to source out a second hand unit from a scrapyard as Fiat will charge a good bit for the whole assembly, which you don't really need. Pay no more than €50 for anassembly

The part number for the motor assembly is
    7658812 - WINDSHIELD WIPER

And the rrp inc vat is £120, I can guarantee it will be a lot more here :(

    Your nearest Fiat garage is
    Burns Car Sales
    Dublin Road
    Ballisodare
    Sligo

    Phone: 071 9161500

They're easy to remove with a set of sockets, plug can be a bit iffy to get out from years of corrosion and dirt, once manoeuvred out just unplug it

I hope this helped and if anyone want's to add something else I might have missed fire away :)

Thank you very much indeed I now have a much better knowledge than I did a few hours ago. Everything taken on board..... Thanks again

I'd nearly chance one from a scrapyard tbh.

Thanks, would they be easily obtained from any scrapyard, or are they rare do you think?:(:(:(
