I run up at Tibradden a fair bit - on the Coillte land up to the fairy ring.
Across the road from the entrance to Tibradden Forest there's another trail....... anyone know where/how far this goes? Keep meaning to have a look but haven't got around to it!

Are you talking about the opposite side to the road? I think you're referring to the trail that leads into Cruagh. There's a decent climb up, a bit of dull fireroad before a nice section through the woods which then leads into Masseys.

The mountain plod (high) goes this way https://www.imra.ie/events/maps/id/1050/

You can do a loop of it, that'll bring you back to the Tibradden road.

It's pretty dull compared to the Tibradden trail. As Nerraw1111 pointed out, it's mostly fire road, maybe 3 miles or so and then about .5 mile through a wooded path. I'll not be heading back there anytime soon, but if you facny a bit of a change, about 1.5-2 miles in, on your left hand side, you will see a path heading up the side of the mountain, with a boarded track through the forest which brings you out on to open mountainside.

Cruagh has an fabulous number of trails... you just need to be willing to explore and get lost on occasion. Trails connect to Glendoo, Kippure, Hellfire/Masseys and of course Tibradden.

Coillte Outdoors do a nice set of maps for Ticknock, Cruagh, Masseys, and much more.

East-West have just updated their map for Dublin which is a great one to have for exploring.

Didn't know there was a trail to Kippure. Often mean to explore that area a bit more.

Surprisingly nice trails over at hellfire.
