Free Gym

The gym was free for all undergrads last year but I'm after getting an email from ucd sport&fitness saying it's €89 to renew membership.

Anyone know what the story is for the coming year? I for one would be disgusted if they were now going to charge us for it, all things considered.

I reregistered for the gym but didn't pay anything ? Thought €89 was just a special offer to get swimming pool access ?

The €89 is for the pool and gym. It's free for just gym.

Did you have trouble reregistering? I've been on it a couple of times and I can't find anywhere to do it.

Did you get the email about reregistering? There's a link in that email and one of the options is to renew just your gym membership.

Yeah, but I can't find anywhere to renew it. The only option is to get pool access. What status does it say your membership is?

I can't see it now, but I'm pretty sure it was underneath the "Purchase a swim package for €89". Do you see anything there? Mine says "You have an active Student Gym Membership" since yesterday.

I know I clicked something, maybe I'm just not sure given they keep on sending emails. I have that same status.

What have the emails been saying? Had you renewed it before they told you to in the email? If so I'd say it was just sent out to everyone. If you have that status you're probably fine, I can't see the option to renew it either, presumably because I've already done it. Sounds like we're in the same boat but you just did it a bit earlier!

It's not free it's €208/ €307 (with pool)!

I definitely did it before the last email, but I'd say they were just lazy and send the email to everyone. We're in the same boat alright. Thank you.

For students the gym is 'free', albeit you're still paying a student centre levy.
