Multiple wax layers

I've finally gotten round to starting work on my car after buying a heap of stuff off Curran. I washed, de-tarred, de-ironised and clayed yesterday after work.

My plan today is to wash again as i'm sure there will have been dust build up and then move on to polish and wax even though it won't have moved.

Before it gets dark i'll probably have time to do the wash, polish and one layer of wax. I know ideally you would put on 2-3 layers of wax and that it would normally be recommended to put on light layers.

As I won't have time before dark am I better to put a slightly heavy layer or still stick with the light layer and maybe put on another layer when I wash again next week?

Any advice appreciated (Autoglym SRP and EGP)

AG EGP should cure in about 15 minutes in the weather out there today.
Provided there's not too much moisture about this evening, you might get two layers on?

EGP isnt the worst product to buff when its lashed on, but you'll nearly be as quick doing two light layers!

Thanks. I'll try get home as early as I can. Just hope the rain stays off as if I can't get it done this evening i'm stuck until Monday

I'll upload a couple of pics after completion. Had to wait until this morning to see the results of the clay. Was quite impressed. It does make the few stone chips on my bonnet show up more though :(

Is it worth using EGP before or after waxing? Or not at all if wax on the car already?

Dont if there is wax on the car already.

I might be worth putting it under wax, if you are concerned about durability...say if you though you mightnt get around to topping up the wax before its due.

If you are looking for the best look possible, stick to just the wax!

No harm in doing both EGP and a wax, but only in that order.....always Sealant then Wax. Never Wax then Sealant, unless its a spray quick detailer type sealant.

Didn't get the time to put the second layer on after but my first clay, polish and wax is complete. Was just about dark when i buffed off the AGP.

I presume it'd be fine to wait until the next wash which would be Saturday week before adding a second layer or should I make an effort to get another layer on quicker?

Obviously not ideal but next week will be grand!
