Apparently this was playtested at Gencon. Oh man, I do *not* see this ending well for my wallet...

    Well played, Hasbro. Well played.

It looks ever so complicated :o
I think I'll stick to my pony memory game :pac:

I have no clue what this is. Looks neat though. I guess it's some card game, something like "Magic the Gathering", right?

    Yeah, basically.

Fingers crossed they'll actually release it here. I did sign up to be an ambassador for the game but I don't really expect anything to happen.

The mechanics are basic, but decent. I'll wait until I have some myself; can never really judge how a game plays from being told.

I think the cards look a little bland. I'd have loved if they'd sprung for dedicated artwork for the main character cards, at least, rather than plain old screen grabs. Maybe commissioning some names from the fanart community. I know the budget's probably tight but for a product like this, a few pieces of dedicated art wouldn't have stretched it much.

I can think of a couple of card games where the original run wasn't so pretty but then the game got wings and sold really well and the first expansion was awesome. I expect I'll spring for a couple of decks when it's released (I dare say we'll be able get it here through the magic of the Internet even if it doesn't get sold widely locally) and see what I/my son get out out of it.

Some games convention needs to run a tournament. Anything you can do for us, Raphael?

If it's out in time, the guys running CCGs at Gaelcon may well be amenable. Dunno how likely that is though.

I threw them an email too, but heard nothing. I imagine they really want to see how it goes in the US before looking at international markets.

I like the game! Played Pokémon for so many years, playing Vanguard now as well, it's nice to see a game that shakes things up, I haven't seen anything like it before. Only reservation I really have is how much personal deckbuilding there'll be; I can't stand premade decks in TCG, so I dunno. I mean, it looks like it's the Elements of Harmony as the type or clan used, so that's something. But there's only six, that's really limited IMO.

So I think I'm going to print myself off a proxy deck or two when I'm printing my dissertation. Anyone else feel like doing that, and we can play or whatever? It's lonely by yourself, just some kind of broken Solitaire :P

Proxy sheets are on EQD anyway. There had better be a TON more cards at the real release though, this is ridiculous.

I also am going to print out some proxies. If only to see what it plays like.

It's the only real way to find out. I'm hoping to rope some of the more sane people I know at UK Ponycon into playing there, just get a feel for it.

Well if all the cool kids are doing it...

I've never really played card games like magic, but damn, I'd give these a go. Looks like a a bit of craic :P

So where's the best place to get these printed, I wonder. That place I printed my other stuff was CRAZY expensive.

Also, does anyone actually understand this game yet?

Any news on this, is the release date still 1st November? Went to the local gaming store and they said they thought so, but nothing official in their computer yet.

    I have aaaaaaaaallllll the ponies!
Well, not quite, but I bought one of each decks, and was good and didn't splurge on boosters. Some very neat cards in my decks and I am looking forward to playing a game after the kids are in bed tonight, if I can convince the husband.....

So anybody playing this on Octgn at the moment? Would be nice to find someone else from Ireland on there. Also best places i.e. cheapest places to order online? Co. Limerick sucks for game stores <_>

I'm gonna start blackmailing my local soon. Pretty sure I saw the sleeves in there the other day, so I may bankrupt myself on em :P

Ok, thought I'd just throw these links here. These are links to a program Octgn and the setup instructions to play the CCG there. http://www.octgn.net/ and http://octgn.gamersjudgement.com/wordpress/mlpccg/documentation/#comment-38. It's free is the main plus point and all the cards available in any amount for deck building. Few enough people play it as is and I wouldn't mind teaching anybody that wants to learn before they bother splashing out on real cards. Courtesy of /mlp/

I also found this SUPER handy deckbuilder. Nicely designed, makes it easy to play around. http://ponyhead.com/deckbuilder

Hey guys, so after a full year playing this online I decided to try and assemble my favorite deck IRL. So I bought the RD/Rara and Twi/AJ starters and am now looking to get individual cards I need. If anyone wants to get rid of their starter decks I could do with the Pinkie Pie one as my deck is blue/pink. Also I'm looking for specific cards from the RD starter too (Holly basically).
Anyway if you know anyone selling out or looking to sell specific cards I need (list below) pointy them to my email Hanley209 @gmail.com or this thread.
    Thanks.

    Yellow Para x1
    Purple Para x1
    Parasprite Swarm x3
    Manticore x3
Any TM's you have would be great. Only these ones from premiere but Canterlot Nights and Crystal Games have others I'd like.

    Blue Friends
Holly Dash x1 (Ill take others if you want em gone)
    Wild Fire x3
Cloudchasers x3 (not allowed to post URL's sucks. Youtube Please be Kind Frank Sinatra) :P
    Solar Wind x3

    Pink Friends
    Apple Brown Betty x3
    Lily Surprised Pony x3
    Flitter x3
    High Spirits x3
Snips and Snails [strike]Destroyers of the Universe[/strike] Problem Solvers x3

    Resources
    Two Bits x3

    Events
    The Hard Way x3
I'm sure people know the deck type I'm building so anything you think would be useful, make an offer. Hanley209 @gmail.com or message me here.
    Thanks again.
