Statutory declaration and form of undertaking

    Hi!

I just signed a contract today and the principal sent me away with a statutory declaration and form of undertaking to be signed by a commissioner for oaths. However reading the form of undertaking it seems that it is just me and the principal that need to sign it. Is this correct?

I know I've filled these out before, but can't remember who signed what.

    Thanks!:)

Pretty sure just the statutory declaration needs third party signature. Peace commissioner or commissioner of oaths shouldn't charge, practicing solicitor might, but either is fine.

The one I was given that I had to get signed by a Commissioner of Oaths/Peace Commissioner/Solicitor clearly stated on it that one of these people that had to co-sign it.

They gave me another one along with it that I had to get co-signed with a representative of the school ie. the secretary in my case.

    Thanks!:)

Just rang the Garda station looking for the contact details of a local peace commissioner and the Garda wouldn't give it to me, saying that peace commissioners would rather only deal with the Gardaí. I'm sure I had one sign a form before, but sure I'll just have to get a solicitor to do it I suppose.

I rang the local Garda station to find out who the local Peace Commissioners were and they had no problem telling me. I'd ring back later this evening and talk to another Garda...if it might save you a few euro!

Solicitors will sign & I believe it is a standard charge of €12 or something close to this.

Congratulations on the job! what are your subjects? I'm giving up hope at this stage, I'm an NQT, more than 90 applications gone since June and 1 interview

I had to fill in one of these for the first time this year. I got a solicitor to sign it and it cost €10.

    Forget Peace Commissioners...
Most I have met over the years are old/hard to contact/too busy with other work

Commissioner for Oaths is your best bet,

Google "Commissioner for Oaths" and COUNTY-NAME
    and you'll find a few
