Mates 2002 pajero 3.2 did suddenly stopped on him on the road and he was told it was injector pump, he got the injector pump fully reconditioned and seemed to have sorted it out until less than 3 weeks later same thing happened again.

    What could be the problem

    Don't know enough to advise

Some vehicles have more than one diesel pump. Others use the same pump to draw fuel from tank and then pressurise for injectors.
Any leaks can cause air to enter the high pressure pump and it won't draw fuel from tank.
No fault codes but jeep won't run.

The only way to test is mesure the pressure at fuel rails or injector.

If there is a low pressure pump or blocked fuel filter they too can cause the same problem.

Usually if one of the sensors is faulty it will store codes. Might not turn on engine management light.

Balls of sh1te imo. Too many common and costly faults - chocolate gearboxes and transfer boxes, poor brakes and bearings and engines that are always a journey away from cacking themselves - generally not a patch on the older model. Sadly, we have one, amongst a lot of other jeeps. Wouldn't have another and I'm not alone in saying that. The manual gearbox design is simply brutal.

sounds like it could be a broken rocker shaft ...

you hardly got a tank of bad diesel?, washed stuff can do a lot of damage to modern injection systems

Strange, I'd be the opposite. We have ours 2 years I think and in that time we've had to replace 1 bearing and the fuel pump. Would gladly have another.

Granted ours is an auto though.

Oh and for the person who asked - only 1 high-pressure pump fitted to the 3.2. Gauze filter in the tank and proper fuel filter under the bonnet. Get him to check the fuel filler pipes & vacuum pipes as these are known to corrode and could cause pressure issues.

Sounds like the rocker shaft, either broken or not opening valves properly or on time.
