Not really...you need pressure to force the water and snowfoam solution through a gauze and nozzle to produce the foam.

our powerwasher has a fitting on it to spread foam over the car useing tfr only thing is this comes in a gallon drum and i've only 1 litre of snow foam would it be any good ?

Thats the problem with those attachments - they dont have a nozzle narrow enough and a gauze to produce the thick foam. You might get a very watery white solution through it, but nothing that will sit on the car like snowfoam should. If you do manage to get anything that resemble foam, you'll have to use the full litre trying to get there!

Just on this, and I hope you don't mind me butting in OP, but what are the benefits of snow foam over a good power washer and a proper shampoo?

I assume there is some "soakage" effect from the foam. Haven't used it myself, I'm a bucket man :D

    Yeah soakage/softening of the dirt.
Safe removal of heavy dirt - suspended in the foam
If you've already got clean shuts and behind trim, etc it helps keeps these areas cleaner for longer and much easier to keep on top of.

Can be used for also covering the car with a solution that will cut through protection, such as APC, if you were doing a clay job.

Neighbours get definite confirmation that you've lost the plot! Especially if you get some of the mad coloured foams! :D

When I lived at home with the parents the drive, faced on to the road, I'd often get queer looks from passers by! Although one chap came over and asked would I do his :D

I have the foam lance and it's very good, well worth the investment..

But i saw something in Woodies in Galway yesterday in the gardening/hose pipe section,
it was the same idea as the foam lance, with a bottle for the soap/snow foam and then a adjustable nozzle, it just fitted onto the hose pipe so it would depend on your water pressure but it did look good (ish) for the money, it was about €25

I'd wonder how well the snowfoam would work through the detergent dispenser in a power washer?

Give it a try in the dishwasher and report back.

It's the detergent dispenser that Curran was talking about in this post:

I considered buying a foam lance, however I rarely take the power washer out because buy time I run extention leads out windows and connect it all up I'd have the car washed the regular way.

Plus, as impressive as it looks to see shaving foam like stuff all over your car, for most people who looks at these types of threads are the type of people who are into detailing/cleaning their cars, so chances are they give the car a wash every week or two, and I think any car that is relatively clean won't see much benefit from a snow foam. Different story if it has muck and grit baked onto it, the foam then will soften the dirt and pressure washed off, removing the heavy stuff without touching the car, resulting in less chances of swirl damage with your mitt.
