Co-habiting Question

    Hello,

My rent review form came through the post the other day. My landlord said he won't reduce the rent as he was waiting for me to move out, as he wants to sell. Tbf, I've had a good few years there and I don't begrudge him.

The thing is though, I have two options.

A: Move back in with the Ma. I cannot stress how much I don't want to do this.

B: Move in with the g/f. We both want to, but she's on the under 25 dole atm so gets €146 (I think?) and I'm on CE. scheme of €208. Will our dole be cut by much if we co-habit?

She also lives with a friend of hers so is paying a lot less rent than she should. Her mate's cool with that. If I move in, we'll be paying €500 for the room. (in Dublin 14) I see the threshold for a couple sharing to get RA is €430. I take it that only one of us can claim RA and the room has to be under €430?

Sorry if these questions seem dumb, I'm new to this cohabiting on the breadline stuff!

    Thanks in advance.

€312 is the max payment for a couple if one is on a means tested payment, so thats about €40 less than what ye are getting now.
