    Hi Folks,

I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone on this so hoping you can help.

My company is based in Ireland and the UK where we sell products from various companies to the end user. I'm looking to deal with a company based in the US who will be selling their product through us.

My question is this.... VAT is applicable on every sale to the consumer- can the US company claim this back as 23% here and 20% in the UK if they can't claim it back means selling here isn't viable for them.

Is the sale from the US company direct to the consumer or are you importing from the US supplier and selling to the Irish consumer. Where will the stock of goods be maintained. There's no reason for VAT to become a cost in an arrangement such as you have implied however you need to get the VAT accounting and invoicing correctly reflecting the contractual arrangements.
