    Hi there! :)
I'm going into first year dentistry in tcd and was just wondering what the story is with getting books? I've heard that some are available in the library but are there some books that you should have your own copy of? Also, is there anyone in other years who are selling on any books that they are not using any more?
    Thanks :)

Football girl, I'm one of the peer mentors for dentistry this year. You needn't buy any books as they are all available in the library and you can easily get by without purchasing one. As you got into the course I'm assuming you have at least 560 points which means Trinity will give you a book voucher worth 150 which means it will cost you nothing to get some books if you feel you need to own copies of them.

No. Although based on previous years you're looking at minimum 14 hours of tuition time per week, with Thursday mornings and Friday afternoons off.

Thanks a million, that was a great help. I got 605 so it'll be a great help to get that, just in case. Looking forward to seeing you during the year, can't wait to get started!

Sorry should have been clearer about that, "off" in a dentistry context means swatting in the library (hangover optional).

I've heard nothing yet either...they're very slow letting us know anything. I've only got the welcome email so far! I'm can't wait to see what it's like. Do you know when we're starting?
