Hello, can someone gimme some advice please ...

Recently broke a bone in my hand, just below the joint. I am a corporate member of VHI and i went to Swiftcare clinic in Dundrum .... it was fast and effecient, although considering i pay a ton each year i was surprised to still pay ~180Euro for xray/consultation/cast ...

Anyway ... i was asked to come back this week, 1 week on, for a followup visit to the Fracture Clinic - is this just a con job? They'll probably just do another xray and charge me 90Euro right? Is it worth going to it? It seems fine, it is not a full cast only half, they said it'll heal itself.

Cannot believe i gotta pay for this as a member. What the hell am i paying for!!!

    Cheers.

No one can give you medical advice on this forum. Read the charter.
I will lay down the facts.
Everyone who has a fracture that requires a cast needs a follow up X-ray to check to see if the fracture is healing correctly or at all.
Whether you're seen in private or public the protocol is the same.
