Hey guys, can you pm me that too? i have 4 crowns already, got as a kid, used to travel up from mayo to eyre sq (not going to mention the docs name or location, this seems to be a secretive post? haha!) anyway, I'm 21 now.....got my wisdom teeth after they were put in...... and ones slanted, half in the gum, half up, for years now. Was getting help in mayo for a while and cant remember why I stopped going to the dentist....was a teen back then so maybe my parents couldnt afford it after a while. This tooth is murder :/ be grateful for yer help!

I'm based in Galway city and need to get 6 crowns done - the front 6 teeth, with budget permitting I prob need back teeth done too. I was quoted 5,600 for the 6 inc. discount by a dentist in the city.. can anybody recommend a brilliant dentist that isn't a rip off? (Only in the city or county as I can't really travel) I want the best crowns but through research I know these even vary in price. Pms welcome! Thanks.

Price Northern Ireland or abroad if it's a big job.

Remember to price around. The difference in price can be astonishing.

Will you pm me too... need to get a crown done after root canal & cant face going back to the dentist who sent me for root canal - tooth was ok till she went at it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 151 ✭✭jobseek

    Hello,
Had a root canal done about two years ago, my dentist wants me to get a crown on it in case it cracks. Can you tell me will a crown feel just like a normal tooth, I have been told they never feel right, also is the crown beneath the gum line, or how is it matched up to the old tooth. How will this make the tooth stronger?

Hi can someone recommend a good crown specialist in galway? I'm confused about all the different materials that are used and which ones are the best - porcelen, cerec, ceramic, lava.. headwecked! If someone can help that would be great, thanks.

Nonsense. I know people that have had major dental work in Northern Ireland and Hungry. Both excellent work with no problems. I can personally recommend one in Fermanagh.

Vote with your feet for major dental work.

I am a dentist, crown and bridge specialist and regular medico legal specialist witness, I can assure you it's not nonsense. Vote with your feet but pay with your mouth. This is not location specific, but a function of cheap dental work.

I'm telling you first hand. I have no reason to bend the truth. You trying to tell me there's not dentists in Northern Ireland as good or better than the South??

If you are you are completely wrong.

Btw, I have no connection to any dentist North or South.

I know plenty of excellent dentists in the north they are just are not cheap. As I said this is not location specific.

That's why it's important to price around and get reviews if possible.

    Same as buying any product/service

Absolutely, but also realise that there a different quality levels not appreciable to the layperson . I would refer anyone to this post I made earlier that demonstrates the point that is often not appreciated. People also tend to gush and overestimate satisfaction with work if they perceive they were savvy enough to snag a bargain, later remedial work is rarely as enthusiastically publicised.

Hi could you pm me prices for crowns, I need 3 I have been quoted €750 each, I would like to see what options I have

Unfortunately I have neglected my teeth and now I can't stand the pain anymore. I had a dentist school friend who did some work for me in the past, but since he has moved to UK a few years back I've let them get bad. I know I need root canals / crowns. Can someone please pm me a name of a non judgemental, reasonable dentist in Galway. I feel bad enough about my teeth as it is without being made feel worse.

Can I get this too. Building up bravery to go to dentist for first time in years, but could do with someone who won't scare me off(I'm a wuss, I know)
