I've been trying to get my hands on a manual for a Massey ferguson 4255 for a while. I've searched on line - ebay etc, but can't find anything, only some dodgy site looking for credit card no. up front, so not going there.

If anyone out there has a manual one, or one for a tractor from the same range - 4215, 4225, 4235, 4245, 4255, 4260, I'd be very obliged if I could get a copy. Please send me a pm. I'll cover all costs etc.

    Thanks

Frigging €200 sounds scandalous to me ! Could you contact a massey dealer and see would he get one for you ?

Call any massey dealer. They'll have them in stock, if not they will order one for you. 30 euro should buy one.

An original workshop manual is never cheap, and generally quite hard to obtain.

Paid €80 a while back for a Ford Force series workshop manual and it is the single best investment I ever made.

If the OP just wants the operators manual then that is a different matter.

I got an operators manual for a 5455 - cost 80 euro from MF dealer.
The add above is for a workshop manual, much much more expensive and very difficult to get secondhand.

Yeah €200 is crazy money, don't think I could justify this.

I've bought these tractor manuals before when doing up the engine on a MF 35 and agree they are very useful when doing repairs yourself. Think it cost aprox €30. However not really looking for something as in depth as that - some info on systems, engine layout, servicing, trouble shooting, specifications etc would be fine.

Phoned a MF dealer and they were to get back to me with a price for a manual this eve but didn't. I'll phone again in the morn and see what they say.

What email address did you use? Worth a go. If you don't ask you don't get, right?

Big difference between a workshop manual and an operator's manual.

You can get a lot of these manuals now on CD from eBay and as Maidhc says, they are a great investment.
