Hi can anyone tell me what mpg can be expected from a Volkswagen passet 1.9 105bhp? Are they reliable? Would the 115bhp or 130bhp be better on fuel consumption? Would the 105bhp be underpowered etc

    Thanks

I'd assume you're talking the b5.5 passat (up to 05?)

No it's a 2006 Volkswagen passet 1.9tdi SE 105bhp was imported from Scotland a few years back

There aren't 115 or 130hp options on that model.

On NCT receipt is down as a Volkswagen passat 1.9tdi se 105ps

What bhp do they come in?

Yep, you can get 105, its the only hp the 1.9 comes in in that year passat. The other Diesel engines are the newer 2.0 engine 140 and 170 afaik.

They're not fast, but no worse than say an avensis D-4D

The likes of www.fuelly.com give real world mpg from drivers.

I used to regularly get 50mpg without much effort in mine before the engine went.

O really the 2006 only comes in 105bhp And then the newer 2.0 comes in 140bhp and 170bhp but I've heard the 1.9 tdi engine is bullet proof compare to the 2.0 which does have issues, would I be right in saying that? But you can get the 1.9 passet in 115bhp and 130bhp in a different year? It's the red I tdi is that right.

Sorry I don't know a awful amount cars

Really sounds good if I can get that out if it.

have a red DI 1.9 passat, 130hp, 2002 and you will get about 43 knocking around, and up to 52 on a long run if you keep to 65ish.

You could get the 115 and 130 on the old shape smaller passat (up to 05)
From 05 on (new model) you could get the 1.9 or the 2.0

The 1.9 has a better reputation alright.

brother in law has a new shape Passat. No engine problem, but the electric hand brake has acted up twice, came on of its own accord, etc

The 2.0 does have issues in as much that the drive to the oilpump fails and the engine gets fubared.
