Anyone booked with e travel.ie?

Just wondering if anyone has booked with e travel.ie? I think they must be part of e travel.ie as the email address is @etravel.ie but the website is called eflights.ie.

I got a really good deal home to Australia for Xmas and got the reservation confirmation straight through and it's showing up on checkmytrip but the reservation number that they gave me specifically for Malaysian airlines is not working on the Malaysian website. I'd like to select my seats if I can. If it doesn't work tomorrow I'll be giving them a call anyway as I have a 9hr stopover in KL on the way back and can get a day room provided by the airline if I call them.

Just to follow up on this I rang MH and they told me i can't use their website to log on & choose seats until 48hrs before the flight :( but that i can ring the travel agent and they can book seats for me.

So i rang etravel and they were very good to deal with and booked the seats for me. Bummed i can't log on and keep checking my seats (i like to keep track and try to get no one sitting next to me!) but i guess that is the disadvantage of not booking directly.

    Hi Mel.b,

I am looking at booking with eflights aswell, leaving Dublin/shannon in Jan.
I need ther return leg of the journey to be flexible, have you any idea if i can change the return flight date?
Would ring them, but in oz now.
    thanks

Normally it is more expensive to buy a flexible flight. Some flights will let you change the return leg after booking / flying the outbound leg (will cost you to do this) & others won't. Best thing is to ring them or whoever the flights will be with to find out the fare rules say.

Can someone at home call on your behalf if you give them all the details - dates, flight numbers etc? Otherwise, maybe try sending them an email today and see if they answer you tomorrow - if not then try calling.

I just want to add to the thread that I booked flights to New York for my sister and mum on e-travel last night. I first found the flights on Skyscanner and it then directed me to eflights.ie where I booked the flights which are actually a Lufthansa codeshare but they will be flying on a United Airlines jet from Shannon.

Before booking I naturally searched boards as I did not know alot about etravel before. I just want to say they are a good legit company and my parents flights are reserved and confirmed on the United website. They emailed me the confirmation straight away and then the itinerary this morning. Using Skyscanner and e-flights saved us over €200 compared to the higher airfares we were seeing before Christmas with Aer Lingus and over €50 than booking direct on United.com.

hi I have booked with etravel to fly to Vietnam from dublin. I was a bit stupid when I booked the flight and left the connection time very short between the flights. about 2 and a half hours. the connectiins are in Heathrow and kuala lumpar. am now worried that if any if the flights are delayed I could miss everything. does anyone know if etravel will give any help in this kind of situation.

If its all on the one ticket then in the event of a delay they will just put you on the next flight or switch you over to another airline, I got delayed once with Etihad and the airline just sent me to a hotel and I got the next flight the following night.

2 and a half hours in plenty in Kuala Lumpur and you'll through in Heathrow also with that connection time. Once it is all booked on one ticket your ok if their is a delay. I presume its Aer Lingus to Heathow and Malaysian to KL and onwards to Vietnam?

As Stinicker said aove you'll be put into the next available flight if they are all booked on the one ticket.

Last year, I was delayed at DUB for over 2hrs due to the air traffic control malfunction in LHR. This meant I technically would have missed my connecting flight in FRA (with KL to malaysia). However Aer Lingus were really good and on the ball - they were aware there were a number of people connecting to that flight and they got us off the plane first and bussed directly to the gate where they had held the flight for us. While they probably wouldn't do this for one person if there are quite a few of you connecting to the same flight and something holds up your incoming flight then they'll try to hold the other flight if they can.
