    no, a neighbour of mine is insisting that an internet connection can be received through Saorview.. I dont have Saorview nor know anything about it, I told him Id find out.. is there any truth this?

    Refer your neighbour to the Saorview website - http://www.saorview.ie/what-is-saorview/, TV/Radio/Digital Teletext only

    There was a plan 10-12 years ago to offer internet with DTT but the company didn't get the licence.

    Satellite 'broadband' (it's discussed in the 'midband' forum here) is already available. Not from the same satellites as the UK channels & not with receive-only equipment (obviously).
