    Hi,

I'm looking for something that'll play as wide a range of file types as the WD Live but without it's pricetag.....and not a raspberry pi.

    Is their anything?

I have both, the WD TV Live and the Seagate GoFlex TV HD. The GoFlex HD also supports tons of formats, is slightly cheaper (I paid €60) than the WD TV Live but it is slower when it comes to browsing large directories.

    Edit: £54 at Amazon UK

I think VLC is what you want! (Has codecs for nearly everything -- No need to DL any codec packs)

    I think not... ;)

OP is looking for a set-top box type of media player.
