Disability Parking Space.

Hi. Can anyone tell me please how to get a disabled parking space outside my door. I moved in with my Mum after she sufferd two strokes which left her with limited mobility. She was given a Disabled Drivers Permit, with me registered as her driver.
My problem is when I applied to Cork City Council for a Disabled Parking Space, I was told that, because Mum wasn't the owner of the car, nor e driver she wasn't entitled to one. I explained that Mum can't even walk let alone drive. Is there anything I can do to get this overturned it seems ludicrous.

Try escalating the matter within the city council first - get onto the relevant Director or County Manager or your favourite local councillor and see what they can do. If they can't do anything, contact the Ombudsman http://ombudsman.ie

As Janedoe10 said try the IWA. There number is 018186400. There website is iwa.ie. They will be able to direct you in the right direction
