Seat Alhambra 00 1.9 TDI Not starting

Hello everyone hope someone here can help.

About a month ago my car would not start with oil light flashing, I checked the oil and was low so I filled it back up and all was good.

Went out to car this morning same lights etc but oil is fine. Insert key, all lights come up turn key and the car turns over but does not start.

I only have one key so I cant check if maybe the key is faulty but it does remotely lock / unlock the car etc.

Does anyone know where the Anti Shutter Valve is on these things as I read that may be the culprit.

    Any help is truly appreciated.

Sounds like you need to start actually maintaining your car. Letting the oil get so low that the oil light came on is just plain negligient!

As for the no-start, it could be several things.

Immobiliser is unlikely: in the case where the immobiliser blocks the start, it'll fire and run for a second before cutting out.

Anti-Shudder Valve: possible - it's part of the EGR assembly. You can manually pop it open while someone tries starting the car to see if it's at fault.

This fault could be several other things too: no fuel, failing injection pump or injectors, timing off (when was the timing belt last changed?), ECU fault. Your next step here must be to take it to a mechanic with knowledge of these cars and some decent diagnostic equipment.

A flashing oil light means you have low oil pressure. You may have a problem with the sensor, blocked oil pickup or oil pump. Can't see how the anti shudder valve is related to this.

The oil light flashing after cranking the engine over for a certain amount of time is completely normal and is just another symptom of the problem that is causing the non-start.

When you switch on the ignition does the glow plug light come on at all?

Sorry for not getting back sooner about this. After the initial problems my brother re-seated the relays and bam up she came :)

Has been fine since until yesterday with same issues. Old fix didn't work this time. A friend of my brothers had a look at it as it was in a car park :(

He said that there is no power going to the injector pump and put 12v directly to it from the battery (I have to disconnect the wire when not in use)

So I assume that its a relay or fuse gone? What are your thought ?

Edit: Relay 109 was the culprit - Seems like a common issue.

I suspected the 109 relay alright. That is why I asked if the glow plug light was coming on with the ignition. If it doesn't come on then most of the time the relay is at fault.
