Ok since I know isn't really known over this side of the Atlantic but he is one of my favorite artists at the moment and I think he has earned the right to be mentioned within the same sentence as some of the bigger up and coming artists such as A$AP Rocky, J Cole, Kendric Lemar and Mac Miller.

His new mixtape Black Flag is definitely his best work so far.

His lyrical flow and subject matter can really stand out from the crowd. His refusal is be forgotten and lost in the crowd comes across as extreme passion in his songs.

He is excellent at doing cross genre stuff between Hip-Hop and Rock. He has done a "Swing Life Away" cover with Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens is such a unique song.

I would recommend his music to anyone who is interest in Hip-Hop and/rock.
    Give Black Flag a listen/download

Right to be mentioned in the same sentence as J Cole and Mac Miller because he's dull and/or cringey.

He can do serviceable double time flow but his writing is awful. Dropping cheesy punchlines all over the shop. His rock stuff sounds like an Evanescence song from 2005 if they were on an off day.

I'm sorry now, but he's nowhere near Kendrick.

I dont mind a bit of MGK, that Breaking News track has a bit of whomp about it, decent effects in the video as well.
But, can only take him in small drops.

His lace up mixtape is very good and also he is one of the few artists signed to bad boy to actually release an album.

IBM tried to be cool and hip when promoting their new tablets, so they asked MGK to perform in store
