No its not, he is on the credits as an executive producer so he works there but I'm nearly certain he's not the banker

How are you nearly certain that he's not the Banker?

Just because he's an executive producer doesn't mean that he can't be the Banker at the same time. :)

And I don't think there are any prizes for finding out the Banker's true identity, alas. That said, it's quite remarkable that DOND has lasted nearly eight years now and that true identity still hasn't been officially confirmed...

Because if you watch it alot it seems obvious that the Banker is a real person, not just a producer who's acting and occasionally you can hear his voice and he sounds nothing like what this guy would sound like.
I didn't mean he couldn't be the banker because he's on the credits I meant maybe that's where the rumour came from?

A producer is not an actor and as they are in charge of the finances for the programme I think they would be an obvious choice as the Banker.

Why is it assumed the the same person is always the Banker. Could it not be a different person every day.

I know a producer isn't an actor, I meant he would be acting in character as the Banker. I think it would be too obvious if he was one of the producers on the credits.

Eamon Dunphy, the banker always comes of as a pompous weirdo and has a inflated sense of purpose. But really he is only an unnecessary third wheel to Noel and the perspective box holder.

You don't know who Eamon Dunphy is?

I'm pretty sure that if he was the Banker, it would be a well-known fact in Ireland by now...

No I don't sorry. Yeah I don't think the Banker is Irish either. Oh is everyone on here Irish? I didn't realise, I'm English I just saw this topic on google when I was searching about deal or no deal. I feel stupid now, that'll be why I don't know who that guy is ^^^^

Don't feel stupid - not many people outside of Ireland know who Eamon Dunphy is. :)

And you're not the only person from England posting on this site, either. :);)

    Quelle surprise
In an interview with Metro, Endemol producer and Pointless host Richard Osman confirmed long-held fan suspicions that Hugill is The Banker.

Asked about how he came up with new quiz ideas - such as BBC Two's Two Tribes - Osman said that the new show "was an idea that Glenn Hugill - the Banker on Deal or No Deal - and I had been thinking about for a long time".

I'm wondering if he said that in a less serious way than it sounds. I mean there was already a rumour that he was the banker so maybe he was just saying it like, when he said Glenn hugill he added "the banker" in a sort of jokey way.

Its not as if they've released this information or confirmed it
