    Hey guys.

Since Saturday morning, Our FV/SV signal has been pretty garbage. Completely unwatchable. Constant sound blips, no picture.

Scanning has removed channels all together and there doesn't seem to be anything that we can do...hence this post.

(1 TV has SV/FV built into it,
and the other is a ALBA Set top box from Argos)

Both have been receiving all channels perfectly since the DSO and had no problems with it up to now.

As far as I am aware, I am connected to the Divis Transmitter for Freeview and the 'Clermont Carn' Transmitter for Soarview and I am getting the following.

    RTÉ 2 HD - Signal Strength 8% - Signal Quality 0 (BER:472 X 1E-6) <-- Dunno what this is about.
    Sky News - Signal Strength 6 - Signal Quality 0 (BER:292 X 1E-6)
    UTV - Signal Strength 46 - Signal Quality 0 (BER:372 X 1E-6)

We have rescanned on both devices multiple times and nothing seems to be working.

Is there anything that can be done to rectify this issue? If you need any more information, I will be happy to provide it :)

    Thanks in advance.

How is the signal split to the 2 receivers, splitter or amp?
How many aerials do you have ?
How are they combined, mast diplexer or amp?

Can you check all connections back to the aerial(s)?

Never ever rescan under such circumstances. You only completely wipe the TV memory so you can't tell when things are back to normal.

You obviously have an aerial or cabling problem.

Splitter box up in the attic connected to one aerial and they have amps on it.

We (My father and myself) were thinking that rats or some rodent could have gnawed on the cable in the attic. Would that be a possibility?

    Thanks for replying :)

    It's possible.

Peter Rhea or others here may be able to advise better regarding Saorview/Freeview reception in your area using a single aerial.

Are the amp(s) in the attic or on the mast? How many amps and where are they located in the setup?

Can you bypass the splitter and amp(s) and test the aerial feed to each TV separately?
